Assistance

angel_fund-9Four-wheel-drive vehicles and conservation often are thought to be mutually exclusive. Members and Fellows of the Overland Society believe that is not the case. We are passionate about conserving wildlife and habitat as well as exploring the world by four-wheel-drive vehicle or adventure motorcycle. Whether volunteering to help track jaguars in the Americas, or assisting  Maasai herders with eco-tourism in Kenya, we support projects that benefit from our particular skill sets and equipment.

Training

extrophy06-17Many organizations or science projects around the world invest in expensive four-wheel-drive vehicles or motorcycles for their staff. But few also invest in training, either because they can’t afford to or don’t have access in their locale. Vehicles piloted by untrained drivers often do considerable harm to the environment even while their projects are trying to do good. Overland Society organizes driver training sessions for individuals and groups, so  their fieldwork can succeed without impact.
