Our History
Overland Society was founded in 2007 by a group of friends who are passionate about both conservation and exploring the world by four-wheel-drive and adventure motorcycle.
The purpose of the Overland Society is simple: to give back for the enjoyment and inspiration we have gained from our explorations. We do this by volunteering assistance to scientists, photographers, journalists, aid workers - anyone involved with conservation, anthropological, archaeological, or humanitarian work.
Our first project was to assist Ancient Voices Films and the Cincinnati Zoo by providing logistical support and vehicles for filming pronghorn in central Arizona. The resulting film, The Running Wind, is a conservation and education tool for children and adults alike.

Guided by a volunteer board, each year Overland Society members are encouraged to organize their own assistance and support for projects throughout the world, helping to prove that vehicles and their use need not be solely extractive and destructive in nature, but can actually contribute to habitat preservation and the continuing discovery of our world.
