Submit Application for Assistance

Where and how we work:

We are gaining members who live or travel throughout the world; however, at the moment most of our members are in the U.S. (and mostly west of the Mississippi). Overland Society members volunteer their time directly with you or your organization, to assist your conservation or humanitarian aid goals. Members donate their time, expertise in overland travel or other skills and equipment. We will post your request on our listserve or website, and members who can help will be in touch directly.

Types of projects we support:

  • Humanitarian aid - assistance with building infrastructures such as water supplies or power; supplies; drought or famine relief;  driver training; vehicle and equipment consulting
  • Conservation aid - assistance with wildlife and habitat conservation work and research; remote site access; driver training; vehicle and equipment consulting
  • Education - supplies; buildings; infrastructure; teaching
  • Commerce - micro-finance; business workshops; consulting
  • Filmmaking - logistical and transportation support for films that support one of the non-profit causes above

What we don’t include: activities such as trail cleanups & OHV damage mitigation.
